Treating Behavior Disorders, Introduction

May 7, 2018

Our team recently went to the Mid-Atlantic Behavior Symposium, hosted by our friends Dr. Leslie Sinn and the ladies at WOOFS. One of the speakers asked the group who worked with aggressive animals and I was surprised at how few did. Not that I'm trying to be judgey, it's just coming from the medical side (as a vet tech), I feel like that's pretty much all I get. I see either aggression or separation anxiety (only slightly exaggerating). Since many of these same trainers refer to us, I thought it might be helpful to have some insight into how we go about treating the different disorders we see. Even if you don't feel like jumping straight in and tackling that 120 lb super aggressive mastiff, maybe it will give you some perspective.
