Lisa joined our team July 2019. She has been interested in animals and nature all her life.  She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from VA Tech in Blacksburg, VA before staying on for four more years working in the Aquatic Ecology Department. Her project was doing research on the effects of coal burning power plants on the aquatic environment.  While in Blacksburg, she became friends with a veterinarian at the new Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. This was the start of her career in Veterinary Medicine.  She then moved to Manassas, VA and attended the Northern Virginia Community Collage’s Veterinary Technician Program. After graduating first in her class, she became a Licensed Veterinary Technician in 1986 and began a very long career in a Surgical Referral Practice in Manassas.

Lisa has been training and competing in canine sports for over a decade. She started back in 1994 with her Shepherd mix Josie.  When she started training her next dog, a Jack Russell Terrier named Monty, she only wanted to train with a positive method and that’s when she learned how to Clicker Train.  Since then she is on her 4th Jack Russell all trained in agility with the clicker.  She has placed agility championships on the last four of her dogs and is working on an agility championship with her youngest dog.  He is half way there! She also competes in Lure Coursing, Fast Cat and Barn Hunt along with various Jack Russell sports.

Lisa is very excited to start her new career in Behavior Medicine with Dr. Pike and her amazing team!

When she's not running around all over the country competing with her Jacks, she enjoys her quiet weekends at home with her husband, Scooter.
