Kristin Peterson
Veterinary Nurse
Kristin lives in Springfield VA with her fiance Brandon and their dog. Harley is a pit bull (affectionately known as "Pig").
She began my career in the animal care department at the Vola Lawson Animal Shelter in 2007 as an animal care technician/shift lead. She eventually left the animal shelter to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. She became a veterinary assistant at a general practice clinic in Fairfax for a short time before deciding to accept a position at Friendship Hospital for Animals, a referral clinic in Washington, D.C., as an ICU/ER LVT where she spent nearly 8 years.
Her passion for behavior has allowed her to integrate Fear Free practices into emergency medicine and help colleagues reduce patient stress. She is excited to join this team so that she can continue to improve the lives of our furry friends.
Her Special Interests:
Reducing canine and feline stress during veterinary visits
Separation anxiety & generalized anxiety
Preventative care: helping recognize and modify potential problem behaviors before they become solidifed
Her Pet:
