CE Opportunities

Workshops are designed to discuss specific topics of interest to a group of people. They all include some lecture in order to explain the topic, but others will also have demonstrations, activities, and group discussions, depending on which topic we're exploring. 

Prescription Drugs

This session, presented by our resident Dr. Meaghan Ropski, introduces veterinary professionals, shelter worker, and trainers to anti-anxiety products. We'll review over the counter products and pharmaceuticals, discuss how they work, when we might use them, and issues of which you should be aware.

Talking to clients about behavior can be challenging for professionals and embarrassing for clients. In this free, 2 hour lecture, learn how to bring up behavior problems, discuss treatment options, and convince families they need to see our team.

At ABWC we're very passionate about considerate handling for our patients. Medical care is important and we can't take care of patients when they're afraid or aggressive. In this two part workshop, you'll learn about managing the environment, dog and cat body language, how to approach animals appropriately, handle them safely, and train them to tolerate veterinary care. Contains both lecture and lab.

Bring behavior into your practice! This 8 week course is designed to teach veterinary professionals about learning theory, behavioral development, and techniques that specifically apply to our niche of animal health. Feel more confident giving kitten prevention advice, recognize early signs of behavior problems, and learn how to work effectively with pets who are fearful or aggressive during vet visits. Online coursework and in person training.
