Animal Behavior Wellness Center Richmond is a veterinary behavior clinic in Virginia. Using our website or services means you agree to this policy.
Information We Collect
Client: name, address, phone, email, payment details, contact form messages
Patient: pet name, species, breed, age, weight, behavioral/medical history, vaccinations, medications, visit notes and treatment plans (stored in Covetrus Pulse)
Automatic: IP address, browser/device info, pages visited (via Google Analytics)
How We Use It
Schedule and manage appointments (in-person and Zoom telemedicine)
Deliver veterinary behavior care; maintain records in Covetrus Pulse
Process payments via Stripe
Send reminders, care instructions, and clinic updates
Respond to calls (Zoom Phone) and messages (Covetrus Comms)
Comply with Virginia law and Virginia Board of Veterinary Medicine requirements
Text Messages (SMS)
We send texts for appointment reminders, confirmations, follow-up care, and clinic updates via Zoom Phone and Covetrus Comms.
Opt-in required — we obtain your consent before texting you
Message frequency varies based on your appointments and care needs
Message and data rates may apply
Reply STOP to opt out; you will receive one confirmation and no further texts

We will never share your phone number or SMS opt-in with third parties for marketing.
Opting out does not affect your care at our clinic
Third-Party Services, Cookies & Data Retention

Covetrus Pulse — practice management (scheduling, records, billing)
Covetrus Comms — two-way client messaging
Zoom — telemedicine video visits
Zoom Phone — phone calls and voicemail
Stripe — payment processing
Google Analytics — website traffic analysis
We use cookies to operate and improve our website. Disable them in your browser settings; some features may not work. We do not use cookies to track you across other websites.
Retention: client/patient records — minimum 3 years (Virginia Board of Veterinary Medicine), typically 7 years; payment records — 7 years; website analytics — 12 months; SMS opt-in records — until opt-out. Data is deleted or anonymized when no longer needed.

Security: SSL/TLS encryption, access controls, and regular reviews; Covetrus Pulse and Zoom maintain their own standards; no system is 100% secure
Children: we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13; if discovered, we delete it promptly
Policy changes: we post updates on our website with a revised “Last Updated” date; continued use constitutes acceptance
