Avery Jurey

Avery (they/she) developed an intense passion for animal welfare in their teenage years when they began volunteering, and then working with local animal rescuses in the Richmond area. Their fierce devotion to animal rights and welfare pushed them to learn more about animal behavior and pursue a career in the field, with a special interest in feline behavior. Avery graduatated from Virginia Commonwealth University with bachelors degrees in Polical Science and Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies. Their dedication to human rights deeply intertwined with their compassion for non-human animals, and directly influences the way the interact with them. Avery hopes to one day be a Certified Cat Behavior Consultant, and then maybe one day a tattoo artist as well.

Avery is a huge music nerd, and in particular they enjoy hardcore and metal music, as well as art pop. They have been vegan since the age of 18, and love spending their free time watching arthouse films, playing dark souls, going to shows, and snuggling with their cat Ollie, who they are obsessed with.
